The woman with the dull mouse hair
Rowed into the night
The storm above was just a’churnin
And she was in a fright
The wind and waves did toss her ‘round
Her boat was torn in two
She couldn’t stop herself from falling
Into the ocean blue
The current tore and pulled her dress
Her lungs were screaming “please”
She had barely a hope to hold
And no hold for her to cease
The looming light before her grew
A pale hand did outward turn
A bright young face pulled her to land
A young girl she did learn
Her lungs relieved themselves of water
Her body shook and shivered
The young girl smiled on so bright
To the house Dull Mouse delivered
Two choices Young Girl gave to Dull Mouse
One staying there forever
Two being gone from all warm places
And seeing the light never
Dull Mouse made her choice so very quick
She stayed with the young girl
She helped take ships into the storm
Made them spin and swirl
The two women could be heard a’singin
On all the far off ships
It drew a crowd to the little island
To where the lasses kip
When the people made it to the land
Not a soul was set in sight
The broken boat lay a’top the shore
A cold body lay beside
