A Witch Lives There

Age Group: Adult
I’m sure some folks would stay away
yet wonder what it’s like.
What awful things could be inside
goblins, ghouls, and fright.
Some think evil plays a role
the devil up our sleeve.
The funny part about all that,
in him we don’t believe.
Cycles, seasons in our life
with nature all in rhyme.
We see magic all around,
and live it all the time.
You may be disappointed,
there’s not much drama there.
No ghosts, no flying monkeys,
or moving rocking chair.
Nature, herbs, astrology,
divination, psychic thought,
healing, Tarot, ancient ways,
some of the books we’ve bought.
Now, animal familiars
we like to have around,
plants, and stones, and pebbles,
and things out of the ground.
A pinch of this, a dash of that,
the pot is on the stove,
something good to eat…
or something from the grove.
A candle lit, a soft dim light
a plant upon the sill.
The belief is plain and simple,
An’ ye harm none, do what ye will.
