Facing Fear

The fear it comes over like a thief in the night,
sneaking upon us when we least expect it,
like a past deed undone it has to be faced and overcome,
it seems so hard the first time we do it,
but like the rolling rains of the sky,
the forgiveness washes down over us,
helping to end the fear and be reborn again,
with new feelings and new eyes like that of a newborn child,
we learn to look and see that it isn't that bad once the fear is gone,
and the freedom it reigns inside our skin,
just look and see what may never had been done,
if we were still stuck within our fear.
