Four Seasons

The seasons are changing again.
Opportunities are missed as I gaze out the window
My longing for personal space becomes unbearable.
My soul starts to drift from my body
My eyes will no longer sleep; my brain keeps racing with ideas of what could have been.
I know they can never be but why oh why does my brain keep holdin’ on.
You are no longer mine and you have a family now and I am married.
My thoughts are the gentle breeze that brushes across your face.
My arms are the sun, which keep you warm.
My tears are the cold rain that falls onto you as reminder that I still exist.
I am the sun and the moon I am all four seasons.
I will always be with you in spirit soaring high singing the ancient songs of old.
My heart still loves you and every night that passes I ask the lord and lady to keep you happy, healthy and safe.
I now feel the chill in the air and I know you are no longer there to offer me your coat or to embrace me.
Oh, to hear you laughter again would be a blessing.
To see you would be a joy.
To touch your soft gentle hands in mine I would die again to feel them one last time.
Author's Notes: Lost loves are the most difficult to get over especially if they were the one for you.
I still think of him and wish him the best out of life with his son.
