Within This Moment I truly Belong; New Year’s Poem

Age Group: Adult
Beauty dances within the night,
Across the sky in soft tender light.
Smiling slightly or full face bold,
Whispering secrets from days of old.
The world shown to me as clear day,
But in a comforting and gentle way.
Glistening life sings her night song.
And within this moment I truly belong.
I walk a circle on snow covered ground,
Yet to this Earth I am not bound.
Crisp sweet aromas fills the night air,
As natures creatures come from their lairs.
Standing alone in the powers of the night,
I beckon the spirits come within my sight.
Surrounding my circle to call down the moon,
Earthen voices join in my rhythmic tune.
Sparks upward spiral as I cast in the fire,
Dreams not yet seen, my new years desire.
Spells on the wind and honoring words,
Names from the past now seldom heard.
Ancient ones come to touch my soul,
Across the veils of time and mysteries untold.
The night hawk calls her warning sound,
As my spirit again touches the ground.
Sparkles of white fall cold on my face,
Awakening me from this mystical place.
Back through circles walked once before,
Unlocking the magick within unseen doors.
Her face now hidden by the dawning light,
Glistening snow falls with the ending night.
Covering the steps once walked in the snow,
Whispering secrets for no others to know.
The year is new this bright shining day,
But in a fresh and wonderful way.
Thunderous life sings a morning song.
And within this moment I truly belong.
