A Seeds Life

In darkness I slept
Through winter, fierce
In the bosom of earth
Ice could not pierce
Long under I lay
In that whited land
Till golden sun
Again could stand
She beat back that cold
Roaring in spring
I unfold in the soil
My root is my ring
That binds earth and I
As I shatter her skin
To crawl out, to see
The world I am in

Author's Notes: Just a reflection of how I feel today. I feel like I am emerging from a dark place and have a chance to look at the world again through "green" eyes.
