Grandfathers Grave

by MorkAlg
 Age Group: Adult

This ground speaks if only you'll listen From the bones cry a voice across the distance It is not the cold stone that leaves a mark But the memories of this ever living heart Sit with me here under apple blooms Close your eyes and string your loom For we are weaving tapestries out of golden silk That nurture our souls as mothers milk Yes this is a grave and a place of rest Yet there still ring songs from the dead mans breast Songs that see things lost in our fog And speak of a dream in a fire lit hall Through ageless spans of the worlds I hear What was once so muddled now seems clear Then the ground, comes abruptly back I lay once more upon cool grass The sun so brightly through apple leaves shines It seems alien here away from my line Though a message resounds, I brought it back And its song will ward me from all the black Now what did you see on your wayward journey? Who spoke to you as you sat there with worry? Perhaps one day you will find the courage To tell me, why you go there so discouraged Does the ground sing to you like it sings to me? How I wonder indeed what it is there you see
Author's Notes: I go often to the grave of my grandfather and read, think, meditate, what have you. It is a place for me to feel grounded and connected to my ancestral line. It has also become special to me because I recently began sharing it with the love of my life.
Sadly, my situation with her is incredibly complicated right now and we are not seeing eachother. Yet I found out today that she was there at his grave... literally minutes from me leaving.
It means something to her too it appears.
