GOOD BYE MY FRIEND

I'd wondered through this life alone the multitude.
I've seen and wondered
But never realized.
Everyone's got their own thing.
Everyone goes their own way.
Everyone meets someone,
But I had to meet you.
You were a good friend,
You were a great enemy.
We had our troubles and our happiness
Down this road that we have traveled.
But now, at last,
This road forks and
We must go our separate ways.
I don't know where my road will lead me,
Nor your's you.
I know I shall never forget you and,
Maybe they'll come together again farther down.
Now as we near the fork in our road,
I must say what I feel.
I loved you always,
Not willingly but,
In my subconscious,
I fear a part of me surrendered with pleasure
And hopes that we'd never part
