Alone I walk through the spiraling grey mists,
Discomfort and disappointment my guide.
The treacherous path I walk alone…why, why?
Is there a worse prison than the one imposed by loneliness?
The hearkened minds I once seeked will now no longer speak,
Beauty becomes more fleeting, darkness shows more.
Forever I walk, searching and seeking,
Is there a worse prison than the one imposed by lost friends?
I walk the path waiting for the end, maybe even a friend to help,
I walk but do not see the path for it obscures itself with lies.
The pain that was wrought…an injustice of the highest degree!
Is there a worse prison than the one imposed by loved ones?
I put one foot forth and continue on the path, never looking back,
There has been happiness that eased me, but now only pain assails me.
What is there to look forward to…possibly light, or more and more fright,
Is there a worse prison than the one imposed by our inner self?
Or a worse prison than the one imposed by me?
Author's Notes: Wrote this a few years back when i was going through one of those much needed, but very depressing life lessons. Though the situation sounds disheartening, it was a time i wouldn't have traded for anything and I learned an amazing wealth of knowledge about myself during this period of trials and tribulations. I think more people need to step back and really review thier life and see the lessons that are trying to be taught by the Divine...you never know what you may learn when you stop seeking outwardly, and learn to see from within. ~ Blessed be y'all
