Life's Path [Pt. 1]

I take a few steps forward.
Is this really the right way?
I turn to look back and decide to return from whence I've come.
It's changed,
or maybe it's just me.
After each passing moment the feeling of comfort grows.
With the pain I've caused those who were walking forward with me bearing down on my shoulders, I sleep.
Sleep with the knowledge that comfort is just a few more steps backwards.
When I wake, the knowledge is gone.
I can no longer see that hopeful sight on the horizon.
Now I'm lost.
No way to return back from whence I've come,
no way to continue walking forward.
So now I stand still
and wonder, 'where to head next'.
Author's Notes: This is (so far) a three part poem that just displas a brief portion of my life.
