the inner dark

As a child, I was told that the dark didn't exist accept in dreams, I was told that light was something that everyone has within them, they just have to unlock it.That there is a balance between light and dark, and light will rule over it.but, what if, ever since a young age negative influences and escapism was your only way out. Most people would run, but not me.I just kept the sadness and pain hidden. hidden deep within for years...... until one day, a guide came to me and said..... face your fear. it is time to see what hides beneath the facade you use to keep you happy. but I am happy, and I fear nothing...... but oh, I was so wrong. for there is a lot of pain, a lot of fear, which over time has turned to rage and anger and indifference. which resulted in my addiction to others who I felt could help me. But I know that that isn't healthy. but, how to go about changing this, how to release the pain and fear, and embrace the true light of my being. I look to my spirit guides for these answers, I have been told that they will light my way, just go through the dark first. and with that, my journey begins.
