Silent Nights

A mystical foggy mist lays its gentle blanket over a silent wintry street.
The sounds of bells ringing so enchantedly in the distance.
The smells of cinnamon and other exotic spices linger in the brisk calm air.
Yule must be approaching once again and the birth of the god comes upon us to celebrate this bless'ed event.
Lights fill the street with a beautiful glow of excitment and anxiousness .
Friends form a circle to welcome the new year and reflect on the past mistakes to learn and overcome the odds of repeating them.
The full moon embraces our circle blessing us and warming us from the cold wintry air.
Our bonds become stronger with the Lord and Lady and Bless'ed Be to the silent nights ahead.
Author's Notes: I was inspired back in '96 while walking in the streets of my small hometown. There was absolutely no one on the streets and there was a foggy mist that surrounded me. All was calming that night and I had to write my poem.
