Mother

In Honor to my Mother, who offered more than she knows:

Using a witch’s Elements:
~ Fire ~
My Mama was a WITCH
Or so my Daddy said
Because she kept home fires burnin’
Within our hearts and heads
~ Water ~
My mama was a witch
Or so my grandma claimed
For she kept the water boilin’
In the big ol’ pot she flamed
~ Air ~
My mama was a witch
Or so my grandpa wrote
Since she was the wind within the sail
Floating home our boat
~ Dirt ~
My mama was a witch
Or so the preacher shouted
For putting up with me
No matter what dirt I spouted
~ Spirit ~
My mama was a witch
Or so I tell you now
Yet though she never knew it
She taught me the witch’s “HOW”
~ Signs Understood ~
The elements are proven in her
In their purest powers and form

Author's Notes: Mom was, IS, one of the least, because she is one of the FEW!
Not accepted by "christian", she was cast aside by those and chose none...for she held 3 jobs, and was a single divoriced woman in a '60's small town life...yet, it is she who taught me.
It is in her Honor, that I claim my stand as Priest, as Man, as Brother and Son...but it is by her sweat that I claim Life!
