Solitary

She walks her path alone
No sister witches here
No warmth of a coven
Not another to hold dear
She keeps her own council
She lives by her own creed
A Book of Shadows opened
Pens a journal, only she dost read.
Life as a solitary
Can be a lonely one
No one to make merry
The passing of moon and sun.
She decides to make a difference
In the way she lives her days.
She decides it is her choice,
That she can change her ways.
With incantations on her lips
Her blackened cauldron heats
Home-grown herbs, she will mix
Adding spices, vanilla, and sweet pea.
To share her knowledge gained
And teach her practiced spells
She desires true companions
Others that she can tell.
She casts her spell with pure intent
Friendships, here to me
To all who seek a witch’s life
To each of you, Blessed Be.
Author's Notes: Living a solitary life, although peaceful, can be lonely. At least for me. This poem is a sharing of how I've been feeling. Thanks for reading.
