The Waste basket is full

Age Group: Adult
You can throw out the pictures tear up the letters but the memories are still there
One by one I watch them fall into the basket
Memories of a time when I thought I was happy
Now we can't even stand to be in the same room any more
The boxes are starting to pile up and are ready to go out the door
The things are split up between the two of us
This journey we once shared together is now over
Our hands parted long ago no longer wanting to hang on for dear life
A new journey begins
Gotta learn to be alone for a while
Then there is that box I hang on to
The one with a few memories still left inside
I guess I will always hang on to it
So I can remember where I've been
No looking back this time
Gotta look forward
The waste basket is full
It's time to take out the trash
