“Ten Minutes to Midnight
New Years Eve”
Alone I contemplate my life.
Was I truly meant to be a wife?
I wonder the question, and ask why?
Why does my heart hurt so deep inside?
Alone I review my past,
I start with lovers that never did last.
The errors I’ve made, the lies I’ve told.
And why do I have such an empty soul?
Alone I decide I need to change.
I rid myself of all that causes me pain.
The negative feeling, I carry inside.
To it all, I bide them, a fond goodbye.
The birth of a New Year and Me!
