Seelie Court

I closed my eyes today
dared again the dream
that broke out upon my flesh
the sweat and heavy dew
that drew me across the raging seas
To the Isle of my home.
Where the sky gray upon the mirk
held the promise of all within
and I dreamt the heaven's touched the shore
and blazed before my eyes once more
all the glory of the Gods,
dressed in their greens and finery
every flower that blooms was there
entangled within some goddesses hair
And here they walked the fermented fields
where life sprang eternal and dressed
each perfect vision this land so holds
and birthed upon these shores
so tender within the mother's arms
The children of the Gael.
There's a calling within a Gaulish heart
that begs its soft return
No words expressed can truly expand
what the breath to wind does so hold
every wish and dream of heart and soul.
That nothing save these precious Isles fill
Consumes us her children within
her timeless cauldron of birth and rebirth.
That here before us cries the songs
of the children of the old ones,
fills our bones like magical charms
that intoxicates us to its whole
Till again dreams brings us home
To the old folk, our people born and dead
that lays these promised fields full and bright
to the intangible vision of the hosts
where the Seelie court fills our souls
and brings the eternal home.
