A maiden's sorrow

Age Group: Adult
The thin blade
rests deep against her flesh
where she wishes life born afresh
To a new day bright and dreamy
where again her soul can walk without the doubt
that fear inside
that hides away her empty heart
Along the road where lover's stroll.
The fire dresses a shadow land
where flickers within a flame
a lovers name
that here upon a quite night
walked the shades of sheer delight
then left weary as to dawn
Before the wakening morning yawn.
She aches for the want, embrace
the soft fingers that traced her face
held her upon the night as if in flight
to where the passion burns, yearns
Those wholesome embers of loves sweet side.
Ah! but the bitterness
the lost lover's kiss
That rips apart her soul, her heart
And leaves all to its waste.
She curses now the fragile moments
when love entered, forever torments
The soft texture that within her womb
Begs its all or total doom.
She peers through demented eyes
born red to tears, fermented cries
that lays each morning as a curse to time
outweighed by loves bitter crime
to take and there not repay,
for the sobs of just one extra day
To lay in her lovers arms.
And now adieu, the moments hue
where cast to lot, the soul caught
dances the final jig of life
and splutters out within its strife
Where blade to line draws forth the red
the ruby stains that drip her dread
and cross the floor where once she stood
A maiden in her virgin hood.
