The tap commences its flow
slowly drawing. gathering
like an ancient hum
that fills the mind
draws deep the beat
Like a heart pounding
The speed gathers round
where the intoned balance wipes
and rushes upon the field
The bone to skin
resounds
like charging horse hoofs
out upon the clay
The battle rages forth
the fleeting images cast
in this jig that is life
where bodhran fills
the haunts of ridge and sea
the conquered state
That beats our harmony.
