My House
by Miss Molly
Age Group: Adult
Beneath, and deep into
warm weather green late in harvest
stretching, climbing, toppin' out
white and purple-feather, where
popinjay Dutchmen in silk breeches court
lily-pad ladies, down,
and past the hollows and the cricks
where just below the water coils
the russet of Venomtooth, out,
farther than larksong can reach
or red deer can bray,
I have built my house.
