Wiccan Wars

I wandered away
from what I called home.
With unshackled wrists,
I felt free to roam.
Little did I know,
battles still exist.
Stumbling around,
the wars don't resist.
When bunnies are damned,
by wolves of the Craft,
who should be pitied
in written bloodbath?
In the Wiccan land,
no witch is the same.
Where beliefs separate,
wolves find cause to blame.
Masters ridiculed.
Authors' works condemned.
New students maligned.
Witch wars never end.
Though the past is flawed,
products of their time,
wolves won't let it go,
no reason or rhyme.
I read what I read.
I judge what I judge.
Bear in mind the times,
mistakes won't hold grudge.
Learn all that you can,
follow what feels right.
Execute no witch
who trails foreign light.
For many witches
run in fear and shame
when other Wiccans
criticize and blame.
Nation of witches,
come, unite in peace.
Ally in our cause,
allow hate to cease.
Author's Notes: I have had it with witches who criticize one another because of their beliefs. I'll admit, much of the history that older Wiccan authors base their works on are flawed in their accuracy. But instead of sitting down and calmly setting things straight, I end up finding witches who start and perpetuate arguments with the misinformed. Our histories may be mistaken, but as long as we work according to the Rede, who is really being hurt by the past's mistakes?
