Feather
Locked in a dream
I can not escape
A smoke image becomes material
And life becomes immortal
The feather drifts down so elegant, so slow
I can almost reach it
Yet it teases me to chase it
“Wait, ” I cried, “Wait”
Yet it touches the ground with just a whisper
“almost”
Waiting for another chance to be the wind
Waiting for a key to unlock my eternity
Waiting, just waiting
Will you come back again?
The feather I so long waited for
Do you see, do you see
How it drifts so elegantly
I must, I must reach it this time
It drifts further, taunting me to go with it
I am so close
Just a little bit further
I can’t wait for another chance
At last, I have it
It lifts me up, as I become the wind
It’s touch is so gentle, and smile so sweet
As it whispers...
“at last, you are free”
