A Heart Made New
I dreamed of love as a child.
I wondered what it would be like.
To have a love so grand and wild,
It’s passion pursues my light.
I dreamed of beauty in the night,
of lovers’ hearts entwined.
I thought it would be like Snow White,
Fairy Tales, dancing and wine.
I grew up one day to find,
My heart had turned to stone.
From a marriage that did not shine.
I learned, i’m better off alone.
Then one day I met you,
My prince of fairy tale dreams.
You stole my heart, true.
My heart began to beam.
Your love chipped off the stone,
I melt in your embrace,
My heart is yours to own.
I have fallen to vulnerable grace.
Your words can be like magic,
Washing away all my fears.
Your silence is rather tragic,
It slices my heart to tears.
When I am in your arms at night,
My heart soars with the rings of bells,
But when your silent anger bites,
I’m in loves torcherous hell.
Only you can make me feel,
Like a goddess of loves might.
My love for you is truly real,
With you my soul takes flight.
So now I truly understand,
How we hurt the ones we love.
There are no fairy tale ends,
And passion gives us wings of doves.
You are my knight in shining armor,
Though sometimes you make me blue.
Your love gives me a knight’s honor,
and with you, I have a heart made new.
