Cold is the Night

Cold is the night,
When the bats take flight,
And the Earth is lit by the Moon,
Stung by the power,
Of the swift,
Singing rain,
The presence of death will come soon.
Protecting your fate,
With their magickal powers,
The Fates spin their wheel of destination,
Sorry will be those,
With more hate than love,
Deep down abiding within them.
It's not all things bad in life,
That make the soul unclean,
But true becoming all your wishes,
Is not the cleansing stream.
You must learn to look beyond mortality,
And the material gifts it brings,
For you will not live forever,
And when you die,
No material things you can bring.
So cold is the night,
When the bats take flight,
And the Earth is lit by the moon,
And stung by the power,
Of the swift, stinging rain,
The presence of death will come soon.
