Sister Mine

Sister Mine
Sister Mine we whispered in the dark,
You told me the truth and I hated you.
Sister mine, you ran my life,
You slapped me in the face when I faced you.
Sister mine when confronted with my beliefs,
You held fast to the Bible and belittled me.
Despite all this I looked up to you,
I loved you, you were my Goddess.
Now that you are dying I can look back,
And see the times we laughed and loved each other.
Sister mine, don’t leave me alone in the dark,
I pray to the Goddess and God that your Heaven is real.
Sister mine, I love you so much,
And I hope I always feel your love reaching out to me.
Author's Notes: My sister is 43 and is dying of advanced Multiple Sclerosis. We've had good and bad times, and I know I'll miss her terribly.
