What Do you See?

What do you See?
A lady at her vanity?
Or a skull, gleaming, glowing white?
An old woman smiling at empty space?
What can you See?
A sailing boat out in a shining sunset?
Or a rose moistened with morning's dew drops?
A smiling girl, with a crown of flowers in her hair?
Or a bright rainbow sailing through the air?
What do you Choose to See?
A violent act in a dark alley?
Or a bakery on the corner?
A homeless person on the curb?
Or a new car splashing oil along the water in the gutter?
Author's Notes: I wrote this when some teacher saw these kids beating up another kid and he turned away because one of them was his best students! I want people to see not just the good but to realize the bad.
