Midsummer with the Faye

On midsummer nights
when the moon is high and full
when the fireflys flutter
Thats when the Faye come out
They come from the burrows
They come from the trees
They come from the shadows
Thats where the Faye come out
When the Faye arrive
a bright fire is started
a merry tune beginings to ring
Thats when the Faye come out
Women with wings and greenskin
Men with horns and eyes of silver
Fairies of all sizes, animals of all sorts
Thats who the Faye come out
And up near the Throne sits one of one court
Dressed in stardust and dew
A human child at her feet
That is the Queen of this Court
I must twirl with each man
if that is what they are
I must not drink or eat
Before the Faye take leave
I must get back the child
the one that sits at her feet
the one with tears in its eyes
Before the Faye take flight
I will snatch the child
we will run in fright
cause she does not like us to leave her side
The Queen of this Court
I should know for I was once hers
Until the night I became imperfect
in her eyes
The Queen of this Court
We will run
From the midsummer night
With the Faye
Author's Notes: I believe it was the UnSeelie court that found it amusing to steal children and keep as pets. But they only liked perfect children. Lock the Doors!!!
