Breaking My Cacoon

So asleep,
Curled up in my cacoon
I lie dreaming dreams,
And sceem the unbelieving
I dream of what I'll do
When I wake from this prison
I dream of what I'll eat
Finally released from this prison
So warm and fuzzy
Like a velvet cloak
It's hard sometimes to want to wake
When really I want to be dreaming
But we all must face this
Face our time, eventually
Break out of our cacoon
Face reality
I don't want to be what I was
I don't want to go back to my second plans
I'm going to spread my wings
I'm going to touch the sliver lining
I want to be happy
I want to smile
I want to take away the world's breath
With the flaps of my wings and the touch of my smile
I will be happy
Because I will fly with myself and with those like me
