Dancing with Kali

Dancing with Kali
I am not your mother’s
New Age Goddess,
I am ancient , dark and desirous.
When I move to the groove
on the battleground’s dance hall
I rock to the rhythm of the beat
of my prey’s ticking heart.
I’ll devour your enemies
and hold no mercy for
the so-called “saints”
of your world.
My smile can tear
a thousand souls
from the depths of the
seediest den.
My voice is a battle cry
so the listener beware1
Not a crystal in sight,
just darkness and flames.
I call to you my daughter,
I call you to the dance,
come and sing your mother’s
darkest song and show the world
the true meaning of rebirth;
that only through destruction
can the Universe creation bring.
