Dawn to Twilight

Light plays through dappled forest leaves
Fractured green filters down
Dark damp soil moist with morning dew
Safe from all the cities and the towns
Mist rises from foliage covered earth
Leaves steam from afternoon heat
Delicate violets rise to the sun
Unbroken and untrodden by any human feet
Brightly covered birds fly into the twilight sky
As fiery light bathes the world in blood
Creatures hide from the coming night
In an orange sunset flood
Silver moonlight shines through the sky
Stars twinkle in a midnight rain
Reflections gleam in the forest shadow
An ethereal world void of human pain
