Salvation

Tell me if I walk past you
Would you even notice me?
A lonely girl sitting in the rain
Or would you continue on your way
As if I’m just a breeze blowing through your hair
Like the water droplets after a heavy storm
And even though this may sound wonderful
How do you think it makes me feel?
To be treated like a masterpiece?
To know that people don’t care about what
I know or what I have seen
Just as long as I can stay and listen to their problems
So tell me than why did you stop and look
What made you so different from those?
That I have met before
What made you stand there and stare
As if you saw the angel that was standing there
Why than did you even want to help me
When we have never met before
Was it because you felt sorry for me
A lonely girl who was cast out from the world
Or did you think that I was crazy
For being the only one sitting out in the rain
Either way it makes no difference to me
For I stop caring about what people
Thought about me long ago
Since no one really cares about
Those who don’t concern them
Except for you for you were the first one
Who tried to get me out of the rain
To try and put some life back into my lifeless eyes
As if you could somehow reawaken my broken soul
As if you knew that you could somehow save me
But tell me this how can you mend a broken soul
With just words alone?
How can you warm a heart
That has been frozen for so long
That has never felt the warmth of being loved
Or what it is like to feel like she belonged
How can you make me want to live life again
When I feel like I’m at my end
That I have no reason to fight and should just give in
To the dark thoughts that are in my head
That tells me that I’m worthless and would be better off dead
Yet you stand there next to me in the pouring rain
Waiting for me to understand
That you feel as though you need to save me
A rain goddess that feels sorry for the world
As she tries to wash all it’s tragedy away
As she sits there to see if her actions will bring upon a change
And for you her savior to take her in and out of the rain
