Hades
by Midnight Enchantment Shop

Hades
Dark prince
who solitary
kingdom keeps,
while joyous siblings
with festive hearts
dance upon the
mountain top.
So sad and lonely
your life became
and yet in your
gentle nature you
would not condemn
an innocent to
equal burden bear.
She came to you
in dreams that plagued
your peaceful nights.
Her voice, her laugh,
her beauty all an infectious vice...
Until that blissful morning
she played across your
borderlands and you
realized the dream was
a reality all too tempting
to reject.
You found her weakness
in that single pale flower
and waited like a wolf
stalking a doe, and when
beauty tired slept...
You pounced!
Her heart beat wildly
against your skin
as you raced back
to your dark sanctuary below.
As her tears flowed down
her face you could not
resist to taste...
The sweet innocence
in those eyes could
bring about any
immortal's demise.
All your attempts at
consoling the mistress
of your dreams passed
in vain, so you donned
your cloak one last glance
to steal before forced
to return her to the
forbidding Sun's embrace...
When in your disguise
you managed to glean
the object of her desire
from her whispered dreams.
Now with treasured secret
in tow to your smallest
gardener you hasten the means
to his revenge.
"As the lady pale as
moonlight through
the garden passes
offer her my bloody jewels
and in her captivity soon
her mother's tears you'll behold!"
the little boy Demeter's
hand had wronged armed
with a child's winsome charm
asks sweet Persephone to eat
for the pomegranates and he
her secret will keep, but when
six crimson seeds had passed
her lips her world tumbled
to the dark god's resounding
laugh, as he took his bride
sealing her fate with
the pomegranates bloody kiss...
