(Below is a poem I wrote when I was 19 back in July 2000. We had a full lunar eclipse that night and I stared at it all night long. It was the Devil's moon some called it. It was the year of the blood red moon. The moon was in full bloom and it was as red as blood. I was so moved by it. I never seen anything like it before. And I took pictures of it. I just stared into the moon almost staring right through it that I was so fascinated. I am heavy into astronomy. So I follow all the lunar and solar cycles. But never before seen anything like I saw back in July 2000. I went inside my home that night and collaborated this below. I had it published back in April 2002. I, ironically, won a poetry contest and as a prize, a free publication and membership of the Famous Poets Society. So here it is. Enjoy.)

It is all around me, not a person nor a thing.
The moon shining so red, nothing moves nor speaks.
Surrounded by darkness, and the ambient set lingering in the dark. My eyes move around so, according to the melodic sound.
The redness of the lunar night caresses my being.
Blood drops fall from the moon and plant right on my forehead.
I dance with sorrow. Swaying to and fro. As the blood trails down my body. Then she cries. The mother moon cries a piercing scream.
I bow before her. The dancing in which awoke the goddess herself, also pleased her. Continuing movement of the music in the air. I begin to sway in prayer. As the moon screams in still beautifulness, blood continues to fall from her.
As I stand beneath her, I intake her very essences of the Earth.
For she is the mother, the goddess. Still darkness sets in the atmosphere. I look all around me as the tears of blood spill at my feet. My mind, body, and spirit, so awaken and alive. She moves with me.
Back and forth in the very same manner. The liveliness and spirituality of her own self is so precious. The blood spills as a symbol of her love for her children. As we praise in the darkness to her. The ambient music is a symbol of our love.
Then she weeps in happiness. For we have pleased our mother. The Lunar Goddess. The ambient darkness starts to fade to day.
But in our minds, bodies, and hearts, the ambient darkness still remains.
