My Prince

Ye leave me here in forest tis dark;
five hours and ye shall part.
I shall wait thee call with heavy heart;
thee must leave me in this dark.
I shall hold this candle at my windows side;
and watch until the sun does shine.
Each morn I shall search the valley wide;
to see if my prince has returned to my side.
Till the clock ticks with thee name;
I fear my mind will be insane.
Thy travels be safe;
for this I do pray;
and bring you back to me to stay.
I wait thy beckoning call my Prince;
till then awaits this maidens heart;
wishing thee had not to part.
