I know it hurts. But that's life, and it's real...

by Arianna Pendragon
 Age Group: Adult

I'm leaving. So I'm going today. Analysis: perhaps. Can't find the time bewteen blinks to decide. Am I addicted? Can't be.
Where'd that light go? So then that grass is chasing me. Zigging and zagging through my conciousness, this isn't actually my fault.
Such a pretty light, did it just say something? Can't have; I have no time for that. I'm not freaking, I'm in control, I can focus. I focus. I know I'm losing? I run, I scream.
I barely got time to breathe.
The puddle's got me. I'm drowning now, I'm spashing around. I'm sorry, so sorry we clicked. I'll stop saying hi if you'd start sticking in my mind. So wet. Dripdripdripdrip, am I cold? What's that now? See, the thing is that my memory's getting to me. Lackthereof. Funny guy.
Hold me tighter.
You wanna hit this? Think you can avoid this? Above me with your floating morals? Well have I got a newsflash for you, darling.
I'm way up there too. Higher than you, higher than the clouds, lighter than air or smoke or helium.
I fly. And maybe this is the case. Perhaps those crazy teenagers are just wasting their lives. I'll agree. (For now.)
But who's got dibs?
Poor little girl. Walking around breathing cement. Are those smoky figures pulling you away? Are you seeing every third minute? Losing yourself, your soul, your mind? Poor little girl. We'll save you, I think. It's a nice thought, anyway. Let's pretend we've got that thing, what's it called? Oh, it's just another excuse, it's merely another synonym. What's it now? Yeah girl, that's it.
Experience. We've got that sh*t to spare. What's it now? I'm in space, I'm orbiting, I'm closing to pure enegry and digesting waves. I'm a plant, I have photosynthesis, you have phones. I've got it, you want it, but you don't.
Because you don't know. You don't crave, and you aren't numb. Never have been.
You don't know what you're missing! (Best part.) Stay where you're safe. Risk sh*t, lose it. *** those morals, they never applied. Me?
Ain't got sh*t to lose. Gain.
(I couldn't have stopped, and I knew better.) Limits? What?
Well, once I stop breathing. There's one, I think. Welcome to life. Population: changing.
Directions: Start. Move, don't think. Act. Be.
To win, end with no regrets. No do-overs, this is timed. Warning: Moves fast.
And the thing is: Sometimes you have to lose all the sense and judgement you ever had. Abandon trust, safety, Truth. It's more than a breath. See.
We've got all the time we'll ever have, right now.
Go.
