Smothered with the same wilted poloroids

This euphoria.
Straining to find the inadequate, buckling emotions down as tightly as possible. Can't, whywhywhy.
Jerks and tumbles and screams.
Thousand seconds, thousand minutes.
Standing and waiting and standing, leaning up against the wall desperate for air, an exit.
And end to the torment.
But the interaction. Spinning around and around like no one could touch you, maybe, preserving the childhood fantasies of innocence a few seconds longer until the cartoon characters startle you into reality.
(This is not reality.)
I don't know, I say, laughing. But I do, I really do. There are secrets I keep, anchored down to the ocean floor of my thoughts. Of course the chains break.
You cannot restrain anything so powerful.
As it happened.
Fiddling with the charm. (5)
Standing, waiting. (4)
Looking around. (3)
Sighing. (2)
Making a face. (1)
Zero.
It hits, shotgun to the chest.
NO.
(Said it once, said it a thousand times.)
