A script rewritten

I thought that maybe if I cried
That my tears would turn into rainbows
Once I could actually see them.
So I cried and cried
And the drops turned into curbside rivers
And filled my room
Until the windows started to bend
And I couldn't see anything at all.
Well that was effective.
So tried to find myself in my old letters
By kicking their canes and watching them try to walk
But the lines of words
Simply reminded me
That I used to know
What I don' anymore.
Well I already knew that I didn't.
So I tried to lose myself in his hugs
And drown myself in her voice
But I kept finding and breathing
Which wasn't the plan
And didn't follow my script.
Well of course I rewrote it.
The x still marks the spot on her shoulder,
And the finger still points to the sky
And the leaving have left
And youre here to stay.
Dogs lead nicer lives then their owners
And the children still run along the bikes
Gripping chalk in both hands
So ill try and breathe when I step on the cracks
And hang the pictures straight
When the wall is melting off
of my crooked hanger
Cryings frustrated
Reality's jaded
Life seems overrated
Its complicated.
I cant explain how I cant explain
How ive learned to contradict my contradictions
Except for the fact that I understand that I don't.
And that has to be the start of something
"Im both happy and sad and im still trying to figure out how that can be."
