And What of Tomorrow

Age Group: Adult
Is there no mercy for all those to come?
Is there no care that their air will be gone?
Can we not see that our children are ill,
Dying of poisons we seed them with still.
Hunger and pain in this world there is now;
More there will be from the deeds that we sow.
Happiness fleeting is ever the way;
But, misery endless created today.
Is there no conscience or consciousness here?
Animals dying, to never appear
Again on this planet whose beauty we maime,
Destroy and pollute to our own utter shame.
And what of tomorrow, our offsprings' reward?
Unbreathable air, dirty water and more...
Do we yet understand that they'll reap what we sow?
Only we, now, can change what our children will know.
