The Crone
by The Spell Shack
Age Group: Adult
The wind blows silent whispers in my ear
The cold touches my flesh and chills my spine
I know the crone is near…the hard bitter barren earth her shrine
She walks hunched baring the burden of death and decay
Clothed in a cloak of darkness she banishes the sun away
Her eyes hold the key to wisdom and forgotten memories of lifetimes past
As she stands there so silent a shadow in mist of the night
“I am the end to which a new beginning is born”, she cackles at last.
Her voice ringing through my soul as she laughs…
“Without darkness there’d be no need for light.”
And she vanished in a whirl wind of snow…in her wake the ground once covered in dew turned to frost
Without the balance of nature all would be lost.
