Where I Am Going
by Soaring
Age Group: Teen
Into all that is forbidden,
Into all that is unholy,
Into all that is dark,
And mysteriously terrifying,
There I must go.
Out from all that is good,
Out from all that is sacred,
Out from the glorious light,
There I must go.
Why must I go there?
I musn't,
but you must make me seem to.
Where do I
think I'm going?
Why, into all that is beautiful,
Into all that is holy,
Into all that is filled with divine light
and sacred promise.
Where am I
leaving from?
Not from a place forbidden,
Or unholy,
Or dark.
But from a place
I simply didn't belong.
Author's Notes: This poem was kind-of created in answer to some of the criticism I got when I first became Wiccan. Some of my very Christian family members thought I was going over to the dark side, and this was sort-of my way of explaining. It's supposed to be an eloquent way of saying that even though I'm not Christian, I am still faithful, and I'm not forsaking all Christian ways; I'm just saying they're not for me. I think this poem will make a lot of sense to a lot of people on this site, or at least I hope it does.
