Stuck
by Soaring
Age Group: Adult
It's stuck,
A whirring, gaping whole,
Here inside my chest,
A neverending chasm,
Which ends within my body,
A thing that consumes me,
Delights me,
Inspires me,
And shows me that there is so much more.
But it's stuck.
A tearing, racking pain,
Piercing so wonderfully through my being,
Pulling apart ideas,
Mingling among others,
And creating, morphing into something new,
And powerfully mysterious,
In its infinite wonder.
But it's stuck.
A bright something,
A wispy nothing,
A twisting, evolving form,
That takes up residence in my soul,
And builds a quiet nest,
Creating a temporary home,
For its glorified nature,
And pride.
It wants to escape, but can do nothing,
But slash and hope,
Because it's stuck.
Here inside me, there lies a new being,
A new concept,
Something to build worlds upon,
Yet so fragile it cannot escape me,
Me in my own fragile state,
My own mortal nature,
How can I house anything so important,
As this changing idea?
Yet it's stuck.
And it shall remain stuck,
Because I, it's bewildered jailor,
Hold the key to its release,
Unknown, as yet, to my own mind,
Hidden in the expanse of all that is me,
My self, my soul, my heart, my body,
Covering the key that this new thing needs,
To make its great escape.
How can it unfold,
Its great glorious wings,
And take flight,
When it is so caged within?
This is unknown.
It shall wait,
until the buried key,
Can be found,
Within me.
