Mother Earth Needs Us
by Soaring
Age Group: Teen
Genlty coasting above freezing waters,
Silently parting cold mist in the air,
Ghosting along, a mere memory,
A grave that is never visited,
For no one remembers its lost color,
Even when its impact was once so clear,
In everything the world new,
And in everything the world has forgotten.
This is the nature of the mind,
To forget what it deems inconsequential,
Even when it walks upon ground,
That was made by those past deemed,
We take everything for granted.
Life is something we have a right to,
Air is something we have planty of,
Water is a small necessity,
Easily had and easily looked over,
Fire, warmth, is easy to come by,
Spirit is a natural state.
How can we forget our Earth so much,
That we ruin her ground,
And her once pristine waters,
And the air that flows above her,
And the smoke that risess from her.
Our spirits should not allow,
This great injustice,
And yet they do,
Because our spirits are nothing but a joke.
A thing of the past,
To be remembered fondly.
Our Earth needs us.
Awaken your spirit to the obvious reality, everywhere.
