Haunted
by Soaring
Age Group: Teen
Stalking a beast inside your own chest,
Waiting patiently for the world to collapse,
Holding your breath against airborne threats,
Haunted by the haven you have created,
Caged by words that have yet to be said,
Cursed to roam paths that are unknown to nature,
You stand still and alone, solitary in your mind,
Surrounded by nothing,
Enlightened by darkness,
Enshrined by death and its accompanying symphony,
The sounds of the earth as it screams for your aide,
The beat of your heart as it wishes for that numbness,
That lost calm which once came with calamity,
Longing, for the first time,
Yearning, for the last time,
As you are sucked down,
Spiraling down into the black whole,
Which is your home,
Your natural habitat,
For you are a creature of the night.
But are you?
