Waiting

Why do I wait?
Who or what is it that I wait for
When will it show up
Or will I have to work to find it
But how can I look
When I don’t know what I’m looking for
Why do I wait?
Why don’t I just move on
With my life you ask
But how can I
When I know something or someone
Is waiting for me
Looking for me
Yearning and waiting as I have
Why do I wait?
I have too, that is why
My heart, mind, and instincts will allow nothing else
That is why
There is a whole inside
So deep the ocean is a shallow
Puddle compared to it, that is why
I look to the stars and divinity in all its forms
To grant my wish to end the wait, the yearning
I also live while I wait but does this
Help or hinder the search
When I find what or who I have been waiting for
Will the transgressions of my life be held against me
Will I be found wanting
Or will I be treasured as well
Even with my flaws
It is said that
Curiosity killed the cat
Well I say
Satisfaction in knowledge
Brought it back
This is why I wait
Time, feelings, curiosity,
And because I will allow nothing else
