In Plain Sight - Release Me!

A love that binds
for all seasons
with such unreason
and gives strength
to your unwise heart -
'tis what you found
when you could not see
what was always there
in front of you
in plain sight....
And giving yourself,
you plead your troth
and gave future's birth
new life..
yet still you look back
when you say you don't -
and lie not only to yourself
but the ones you say you love
because you could not see
what was always there
in front of you
in plain sight...
I wonder how
you can look at yourself
and know that
while I released you
and gave you what you
needed, you, in turn,
could never bring yourself
to give me what I need now -
to be released from your vow
because you always
need to hold onto
what was once there
in front of you
in plain sight...
Because if you hold on
any longer the gift I gave
will go away
because you lie to yourself
and the ones you say you love
and it will not be me
that releases you
because you cannot see
what will never be again
in front of you
in plain sight...
