Warrior Priestess

i went to the circle
where you first cast your spell
and knew death's warp
had sounded his bell
hard jangle of soft nerves
bathed me purple knots
as the wind tore my hair
as if to shriek "STOP!"
sword half raised
i gave a good swipe
and found my long blade
turned into a knife
laughing, i saw
the dance fully now
swerving the arc of silver
as ghouls cringed and scowled
"your shadows become you"
you said with some glee
yet try as you might
never did i bleed
hacking your way
to try to taste my core
you slashed thru your soul
and slid in your own gore
and upon your lips
the foul curse never born
for at that moment
the sun rose - reborn
bathed in bright light
i gave you your leave
no cut from my knife
would ever make you bleed
'twas your own flesh
that made you weak
'tis not my soul you want
but your own that you seek
so now you know
that i cannot be defeated
your horrific plans
soon to be unseated
for armoured i am
by She whom i know well
so when the bell tolls
'tis for thee - thy death knell...
