I Wish I Could Say What I Say To You

I wish I could say what I say to you
when I lay my head on my pillow
with each thought of you and your touch;
a moment spent in the thrill of night;
longingly of dreams and wishes that transpire
in the mind and become the heart of the world
that I would have with you.
Lonely, I am but needing more than I
have right now, I find the solitude of
my life enjoyed yet missing the integral
passion that I have found within you;
a grasping need to find the heart
of your world and make it ours.
No double-talking here, but the words
of a soul once maimed and broken, now
full and questing for the songs of your
soul to become the orchestra of us in
the day-to-day minutes that define
what is and truly now.
I have touched on parts of you hidden
from others; feelings clamped down
firm as others have driven the light
from your eyes, I have only wanted you
to reclaim yourself and find that I am
here waiting for you.
Finding myself within you, you gave a gift
of recognition and satisfaction unknowingly
and unwaveringly; my life's quest found
within the whisper of your lips touching
mine in the discovery of exploration -
untouched worlds within you.
Our questing hearts know no bounds
as we yearn for the sky and moon, sun
and stars to guide us by, as the light
of love's redeeming grace falls upon
the prayers of hope and fulfillment
with a single touch from you.
I wish I could say what I say to you
in the darkest of nights when sleep
touches your eyes and mine are but
a kiss away from our own perceptions
of time and space to unite our hearts.
