I Wept

I wept the breath of me weary
as my misery took flight
on the joining of paradise lies
no touch claimed bare my suffering, yet I
am departed of this viper’s kiss
no remains led a shattering
to drain me harsh and unwielding,
yet grace continues to shower
her curls of entry so pale that I
am weak with translucence
My tears ravaged cores of night
to imprison warmth’s kiss to ice
no reprieve to these ghosted gifts
of love’s embarkings ripened and rotted
undone as I am, so wilted, so cursed…
I wept the breath of me weary
until these remote hands and lips
slackened their grasp to dreamscape eyes
and envisioned the desire of serenity’s capture
so sunk beneath memory’s decay
winding beyond the spores of worlds
lasting in true clarity was the bedded truth,
the layered peel of nightmare to clean
my deception of illusion saddled on the venture
of commitment’s sword…so whored…no honor…
My heart clasped, I burned with fury’s tempest
and so gave credence to the sorrow of loss,
I bade my grief go with my dream’s light
and as the ragged sigh gave way to fresh daylight
I wept for moments gained as I gave leave the bed I made.
