The Alchemy Of Night

The alchemy of night sleeps
in slumber’s gaze unaware
that each moment gains the grain
of truth filtered in sunlight groves
and rain-misted trees
as mantras echo in tantric
measure, our pledges
sifting in myth and lore
flaming candles aloft
in softness of promises
The alchemy of night
drifts wicked with repeat
while our petal eyes harden
a spill down the rivers of passion
banking the treasures of each trove
as the ache of midnight quenches
our quickening fruit,
each ripening a gift unfettered
and proferred for the taking
The alchemy of night
speaks to the soul of poetry
ravaging in splendour a moment’s
grain of truth while painting
the vista of an evolution
envisioned and denied
by another’s questing heart
thus beckoning all to witness
the alchemy of night in
Us.

Author's Notes: I was once asked what is the alchemy of night...lol...how can this poetess answer this easily? Is it the passion, the darkness or is it the path......?
