Warrior's Promise

You carried me here beyond the walls of redemption
and laid me down upon your altar of condemnation
You who would be my king and life-protector
bury me now without kinship or splendour
Sacrificed for your honor and heartless treachery
You bade me give all for your lust and your lechery
And while I did not give you the best of me yet
you took a life unwilling, so cast within your net
Well now, my High King, I have a proclamation
that will further my cause of your soulless damnation
For within your circle are those of my kin
who’ll avenge my honor and your soul they’ll win
Of earth and sea and worlds to come
Will your sins pile up and bid you undone
For though you hunger for the world’s “salvation”
There are those of us that will bury your ignorant desecration
And so we will rise to fight a new day
As our ancestors chose in the Old Ways
And ne’er shall you kill, nor maim or treason
For we stand as Warriors for humanity’s season!

Author's Notes: If you're wondering, this is my own political rant on the treatment of all our pagan brethren who have fought wars for their "high kings" and not gained the recognition for their valor, whether it be modern-day or not....
